I'm not sure why the race officials posted everyone with the same time?

The message I received is that Anthem rider Ron LaRose, also a CCNS client, suffered a major bone bruise to his patella, 14 stitches in his knee, and a broken thumb...along with a boat load of road rash. We wish Ron the best!

Get Well Ron

I just caught word that Anthem/CCCC rider Ron LaRose, who trains at CCNS, went down hard today and was taken from the race site via ambulance. Its my understanding that Ron was talking and coherent after the fall, so that is good. We wish Ron the best and hope everything ends up ok.

Fitchburg underway!

Today begins the 1st of 4 days of the 48th Annual Fitchburg Longsjo Classic Stage Race. Hopefully the guys got some rest and are ready to ride. The riders will be staying in dorms all 4 nights of the race, which isn't exactly ideal pre-race sleeping conditions. I received a call from Bob German this morning letting me know he hits the time trial course at 10:55. I'm not sure when Harrison and Robert go off. I'll be updating the blog as the results come my bookmark the site and keep checking back as the days progress.

Harrison Harb was the lone rider representing the team at the 25th Annual Exeter Criterium that took place yesterday evening. The only mens race that was held was the Pro 1-2-3 and Harrison hung in their to finish in the middle of the field. Nice to see the team's Junior riders moving up in the ranks and holding their own in the Pro races.

Weekend Results

It was a successful weekend of racing for our Junior/Cat. 3 rider Bob German. Bob finished 3rd on Saturday at the NBX BIKES Ninigret Criterium in Charlestown, RI getting himself a spot on the podium and taking home some prize money. On Sunday at the Cox Charities Cycling Classic in Providence, RI Bob hung strong to finish 16th in the field of 80+ riders. Junior/Cat 3. rider Robert Schmidt came down from upstate New York to race the Cox Crit. Robert rode strong early on, despite battling stomach illness. He jumped off the front of the field to chase down a prime. Nice job guys!

The team now has a Flickr site up chock full of photos by team rider Anthony Vecca. Head over to: CCNS/Pedal Power's Photos
